Sharing Interesting Information on a Saturday

Last week I wrote a post about learning to love myself for Dr. Kathleen Young’s Blog, “Treating Trauma in Chicago”, and it dawned on me that I should mention it on my blog too!

In the post I attempt to articulate the process of how I learned to love myself after 40 years of mental health problems, low self esteem, dissociated identity disorder and multiple depressions. It wasn’t easy to fit that into a one document but I gave it my best effort and I hope that you will read it.

I would also like to say; Welcome back Carla!

Carla has been on vacation in Florida with her family this past 9 days and she is coming back tonight! I have missed her and look forward to her return!

This past week Carla was also a guest blogger on the blog “Coming out of the Trees“. I encourage you to visit Marie’s blog and read Carla’s post “The Guilt Sentinel

Patricia Singleton, author of the blog “Spiritual Journey of a Lightworker” is a regular reader and commenter of ours here on Emerging from Broken. Patricia is an incest survivor and recently did a wonderful radio interview with radio talk show host Cyrus Webb ~ Conversations Live~  where she tells her powerful story.  You can listen to the replay here;

Wow! Thank you Darlene. This has been a really powerful week of each of us reaching out and extending our reach into the community of incest and abuse survivors and beyond to the world of so-called “normal” people hasn’t it.

For me, the past two weeks have been about starting new chapters of recovery and opening closed doors from my childhood. It has been an emotional roller coaster. Never have liked roller coasters much. Had way too much excitement in my childhood to enjoy it as recreation.

I thank you for the support and love that you sent my way earlier in the week. I know the work isn’t over but right now I seem to be getting a break in activity so that I can process everything that has happened since just before the interview until today. Here is wishing you a glorious Mother’s Day. Do they honor Mother’s Day in Canada or is it just an American holiday?

Oh yeah, thanks for the link to my interview. That really opened doors for me.

Hi Darlene!

You did a fantastic job articulating your process. I am sure it will be inspiring to many.

I am really excited by our collaboration and hearing about what’s going on with others! All of us working together make it possible to reach larger audiences with the important message of hope and healing.

Thank you again for being my first ever guest blogger! 🙂

Yes this has been a wonderful couple of weeks sharing our united voices.
Absoloutly, we celebrate Mother’s day here in Canada! I have a special post coming up for tomorrow called “Mother’s Day without a Mother”

Hi Dr. Kathleen!
Thanks for the compliment and yes you are so right, reaching larger audiences with the message of hope and healing is certainly the goal!
Thanks again for inviting me to post on your blog!

Hugs, Darlene

Thank you, Darlene, for the link to Carla’s guest post on my blog! I appreciate the “shout out”!

I really enjoy your blog . . . both you and Carla have really great wisdom to share and you share it with such humble spirits.

– Marie (Coming Out of the Trees)

Thank you Marie~ again, it was an honor to be able to post on your site. Thank you for the warm welcome back Darlene. 🙂 While I was able to visit and catch up here a couple of times while I was away, I’m excited to be back! So many great things are going on here and I’m humbled to be a part of it. Looking forward to this new week!

Love Carla
